Description:
Boastful and arrogant Chand Sadagar, Behula’s eternal love towards Lakhinder, conflict between goddess Manasha and Chand are some well circulated myths of hindu mythological epic Manashamangal. Behula danced to get back his husband’s life infront of most powerful gods in heaven. Behula's dance seemed to be a libidinous amusement to them. But what we have read in Manashamangal is not the end of the real story. In various literatures by Acharya Dinesh Chandra Sen it has been found that even after dedicating her life to save Lakhinder and his all dead brothers’ lives , Behula’s virginity and character were questioned by the society .
Time flows, but what remain constant is that “society” which always questions on woman character, those greedy eyes of power which always try to oppress in different ways. Patriarchy is still present deeply in each of us, each and every moment our judgemental minds try to question on female character for her every movement.
Jagoron Pala, an audio-visual contemporary adaptation of Behula Lakhinder’s tale, questions on that patriarchy, it tells the story of never-ending oppression by the powerful.
This show will be available for 10 days.
